WHAT IS USTA LEAGUE TENNIS? USTA
League Tennis is the country's largest recreational tennis league,
helping more than 800,000 players nationwide go on the court, have a
good time, and step up their game. Leagues are organized for
competitive team match play, and set up according to NTRP ratings, so
your teammates and opponents will be at your skill level. The
competition is exciting and the atmosphere is social. Whether you are
new to the game or an experienced player, there is a League for you! WHO CAN PLAY?USTA League Tennis is for women and men age 18 and older of all abilities and experience. Whether you're new to the game or a former college player, there's a spot for you. Players must turn 18 on or before December 31 of the year of competition. HOW DOES IT WORK? Teams can compete in 14 different leagues. There are four national divisions: USTA Mixed 18 & Over, USTA Adult 18 & Over, USTA Adult 40 & Over and USTA Adult 55 & Over and one Intermountain Sectional division in ITA Fall Mixed Doubles. The IdTA also offers six local leagues as well as two different World TeamTennis leagues. The formats feature singles, doubles and mixed doubles. HOW COMPETITIVE IS IT?Do
you have the desire to compete on a national level? USTA league is the
only adult recreational tennis program in the country with a national
championship. If you just want to play regularly, meet new people, USTA
can take you there too. Make it your league. Play as hard you want.
HOW DO I ACCESS TENNISLINK AND JOIN THE USTA OR RENEW MY MEMBERSHIP?The fastest way to become involved in local tennis activities is to join the USTA and become familiar with TennisLink the
USTA’s secure web-based communications system. Through TennisLink, you
can join or renew your annual membership with USTA, create and register
for Adult League teams, enter and confirm scores, access team rosters,
standings, schedules and scorecards and register for local tournaments. Go to usta.com/membership to join the USTA for the first time or to renew your membership. To join for the first time click on Adult Memberships and to renew click on Renew Membership (make sure you are logged into TennisLink. Cost for an Adult USTA membership (18 and over) is $44 for one year, $119 for three years, or $176 for five years. A junior membership (under 18) is $20 for one year, $54 for three years, or $80 for five years. Family memberships (two or more members of the same family) are $72 for one year, $195 for three years, or $288 for five years. TennisLink accepts VISA, MasterCard, Discover or American Express.
HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR A LEAGUE? As
a USTA member, you can register for USTA-sanctioned league and
tournament play. (USTA membership must be current through the end of the
league season you are registering to play in.) From the League homepage
in TennisLink,
click on “Register for a Team” on the right side of the panel. You will
need to enter your USTA number and the team number* in the spaces
provided. Be sure to click on YES if you will be the Captain. Include
your phone number if you want other team captains and your District
League Coordinator to have access to your phone number for questions or
for relaying information. Click on Next Step and follow the payment

HOW DO I CREATE A TEAM OR BECOME A TEAM CAPTAIN?To captain or create a team in a Treasure Valley league, go online to tennislink.usta.com/leagues.
On the right side of the screen, click on “Create a Team On-line.” Then
select the section (USTA/Intermountain), the district/area (Idaho), the
league you want to captain a team for, the flight, the sub-flight,
enter a team name (please include at least the last name of the team
captain in the team name), click on “Create Team,” and follow the
remaining instructions. To captain or create a team in a Twin Falls, Pocatello or Idaho Falls league, contact your local league coordinator for a team number:
TennisLink allows team captains to access team rosters, standings, schedules and scorecards, and is where captains enter and confirm scores. IdTA also provides team captains with “Captains packets.” Captains’ information includes instructions on viewing team schedules, printing scorecards (match specific and blank scorecards), recording scores, confirming scores, accessing other captains’ contact information, and viewing team rosters and standings.
