The possibility of flighting has increased in the 2013
season as the addition of leagues has shortened a few league seasons. All of
the USTA leagues (USTA Mixed 18 & Over, USTA Adult 18 & Over, USTA
Adult 40 & Over, USTA Adult 55 & Over) are eight weeks long while the
ITA Fall Mixed is six weeks long. The IdTA will continue to attempt to offer
1-2 matches a week; therefore if a league is eight weeks long the maximum
number of matches a team could receive are 12 team matches, thus any levels
with more than 13 teams will be flighted. If a league is six weeks long the
maximum number of matches a team could receive are nine team matches, thus any
levels with more than 11 teams will be flighted. Levels with two teams will get
no fewer than six matches and levels with three teams will get no fewer than
eight matches. Teams
are encouraged to carry no more than 10-12 players. |
